Case Studies: Currency Passport

Currency Passport Marketing is an accomplished marketing agency in Chilliwack, B.C., that works exclusively with credit union industry and tourism industry clients in Canada. By offering a multidisciplinary range of marketing services, including branding and communications, Currency Passport helps its clients create, renew, and strengthen their brand power.

Web site management of dynamic content

Currency Passport is a great agency. It provides myriad well-executed solutions for its clients across Canada, including the handling of print materials, TV and radio advertising, and ongoing campaign support and tracking. K1 plays a key role in helping Currency Passport meet the online demands of its clients. We make available the tools that allow Currency Passport’s clients to easily manage their Web site content and online communications.

The tools for managing Web sites have improved over the past decade in tandem with the Internet’s increasing maturity. A lot of companies, though, still edit basic HTML documents when they want to update their Web content, spending valuable in-house time to do so or, worse, spending limited funds to hire a Web design firm to handle the task. The disadvantages of the latter are twofold. First, ongoing fees for content maintenance and budgeting for content changes can prove challenging. Second, critical content that needs to be updated immediately has to be scheduled through a third party that may or may not be able to execute the needed changes right away.

K1 offers two elegant solutions for the clients of Currency Passport. We furnish to Currency Passport the tools to manage the content on its clients’ sites. Alternatively, Currency Passport can grant its clients access to the admin panel so that the clients can themselves directly and easily manage their site content.

whats-in-the-box.ca
In spring 2006, Rocky Mountaineer Vacations launched a new route to Whistler. As part of the product launch, Currency Passport devised a contest, using the whats-in-the-box.ca site, to generate awareness in Vancouver leading up to the unveiling of the new route. The site included basic page management, poll, and e-mail campaign tools. K1 also developed some simple Flash games based on the campaign theme. The site was key to the client reaching 300% of its post-launch booking target.
