Barracuda Anti Spam

Barracuda Antispam Instructions.

You should receive an email daily, if you have received spam, from Barracuda Spam Firewall no-reply@k1technology.com. This email is a report of any messages that have been caught by the Barracuda Antispam and provides you with a way to deliver the messages, whitelist an email address and manage your preferences.

A few things to note:

  1. You do not need to delete messages from your quarantine report as they are automatically deleted after 7 days.
  2. If you use Microsoft Outlook and you can't click the links in the report, there may be a pink bar at the top of the message in outlook warning you of unsafe links. You need to click this pink bar and allow links.
  3. Outlook may place these reports in your outlook Junk Email folder, you can add these messages as a safe sender by right clicking on them and choose Junk E-mail, "add sender to safe senders list". If the message is in your Junk E-mail you need to move it to your inbox before the links will work.

Barracuda Quarantine Summary Report Email:

The messages have been blanked out on this screen shot.

You can click deliver next to a specific message if you are not sure it is legitimate and you only want that 1 message to come to your inbox, this will open a webpage and take you to your Quarantine Inbox then deliver the message. It will take a few minutes for the message to show up in your inbox, or your Outlook Junk E-mail.

If you know the sender and want to make sure they are never blocked again, click whitelist next to the message and this will open a webpage to your Quarantine Inbox, deliver the message and add the email address to your whitelist.

If you want to manage your Quarantine Preferences just click the link at the bottom of this email that says "click here". See the bottom of this page for notes on preferences.

Quarantine Inbox:

When you click any of the links on the quarantine report a new webpage will open up and take you to your Quarantine Inbox. From here you can click on an individual message to read it, or click the links to deliver or whitelist just as you would from the emailed report. You can click preferences to manage your whitelist and report options see the screen shot at the bottom of this page.

Quarantine Preferences: Whitelist/BlackList

When you click the preferences tab you will see the Whitelist/Blacklist, all the whitelisted addresses are at the top, you need to scroll to the bottom of the page to see your blacklist. ***Make sure you do not whitelist your own email address as this will allow spam bots to send spam to you using your own email address.

You can click the trashbin to the left of an email address to remove it from this list or type a new address in and click Add to manually add an email to the whitelist  or blacklist at the bottom. I don't recommend to whitelist an entire domain including your own as this will allow more spambot emails to get through, you need to manually add all your staff to make sure you don't block them or your should monitor your quarantine reports.

Quarantine Settings:

If you click on Quarantine Settings you can disable the quarantine so messages that are scanned just get tagged and delivered to your inbox. You can also adjust the frequency of the quarantine reports to weekly or never. We recommend to keep the reports daily so you can check the reports for any "false positives" where valid email was caught as spam.
